Mom

    Emu - 2018

    Mom armchair.

Designed for EMU, the MOM Chair was born from a desire to create a contemporary seating solution that balances comfort, durability, and a distinctive aesthetic. Inspired by the soft, enveloping shapes of traditional metal garden chairs, MOM reinterprets these lines with a modern twist, featuring gentle curves and an inviting silhouette.
The steel slats, carefully arranged with varying spacing, create a dynamic visual rhythm while ensuring excellent ergonomics and outdoor resilience.

The creation process focused on an economical approach: the chair was designed using steel profile for the legs and frame, minimizing welding points and simplifying assembly to reduce production costs. The seat and backrest use a stamped  plate, allowing multiple parts to be produced from a single steel sheet with minimal waste.

    Mom stackability.

This design strategy resulted in a chair that not only embodies Italian craftsmanship and timeless design, but also meets industrial and budgetary requirements — making MOM a versatile and accessible solution for both residential and contract environments.
